Web Home: a task whose completion fails comes back with no error, so it looks done and then reappears#22435
Product impact
- Primary loop layer: UX-Polish
- Involves data loss, failed capture, or broken sync/trust: the task looks completed when the server never saved it, and nothing on the page says otherwise.
Describe the bug
On web Home, ticking a task in the Currents list hides the row right away and then saves the completion. If the save fails (offline, a server error, an expired session), the row quietly comes back and nothing says why. The error only goes to the browser console. The click looks like it worked, then the task reappears, so it is easy to look away believing it was completed.
To Reproduce
- Open the web app's Home with at least one open task under Currents.
- In DevTools, block requests matching
*/v1/action-items/*/completed*(or go offline). - Tick the circle next to the task.
- The row disappears and then comes back. No error shows anywhere on the page. The console has
Failed to complete task: ....
Current behavior
The failed completion is undone without any message. The task is back in the list as if it had never been ticked.
Expected behavior
The hub says the completion did not save, as the Tasks page does for the same failure. There, reverts the row and sets , which shows in a banner (for example ).
